What is your talent? That’s the question youth workers from Avedan Welzijn, Studio 15, Imago Mundi, Idrops and Youth Act asked themselves. But what if you can’t answer that question in 1, 2, 3? Especially for this purpose an app was devised that teenagers can use together with a youth worker or youth coach. This gives them insight into what they can already do, and what they would like to develop.
The app is one of the results of the transnational project of Erasmus+: Find your Talent, work on your skills! In this project, Avedan Welfare and Studio 15 worked together with youth work organizations in Poland, Romania and Belgium on new methodologies and projects in the field of youth work and talent development.
After the summer vacations the youth workers will start working with the new app. Through different steps, young people gain insight into what they are good at, what gives them energy, what talents they would like to develop. They can fill in the questions themselves, work on them together with a youth worker or youth coach or ask their friends for feedback. In this way they get a better understanding of themselves and their potential.
In addition to the app, the exchange also resulted in an online handbook that can support social workers of various organizations in developing the talents of young people.
